Anzitutto vorrei ringraziare Roberto per tutto il tempo che passa
per organizzare il concorso pronostici, soprattutto quest'anno
che 'la Citta Invisibile' ha proprio meritato il suo nome con la
sua sparizione estemporanea.
Provero a fare questa mia presentazione in italiano anche se il
mio italiano e piu che pessimo.
Dunque, mi chiamo Mauro, sono nato in Svizzera, in Vallese per
essere precisi, da genitori Italiani e in particolare da un padre
tifoso sfegatato del Milan. Sfortunamemente per lui, anche se si
e occupato della mia educazione calcistica sin dalla nascita, per
una oscura ragione gli sono sfuggito di mano. In effetti, sono
tifoso della Juve.
Devo dire che quest'anno mi chiedo chi e il piu sfortunato tra mio
padre milanista e io povero juventino amareggiato. Per fortuna il
CP2000 mi ha aiutato a dimenticare le mie amarezze per anche se la
Juve ha perso, io almeno ho vinto (questo e la mia piccola parte
nel banfare).
Adesso vivo nei pressi di San Francisco e lavoro in una "start up"
nel ramo delle telecommunicazioni.
E da diversi anni che partecipo al CP e fino a quest'anno sono
sempre stato pessimo per non dire peggio.
Dunque mi e difficile spiegare come sono riuscito a ottenere dei
risultati cosi buoni, perche mi sono stupito anch'io. A meta anno
quando ero nei primi dieci ero felicissimo e speravo solo riuscire
a mantenere la mia posizione. Quando ho visto che risalivo quasi
non ci credevo.
Ovviamente queste ultime settimane ci speravo e ho speso un po
piu di tempo nel compilare i miei pronostici.
La sola cosa che posso dire e che quest'anno non mi sono piu
lasciato guidare dal cuore. Gli altri anni avevo delle regole
assolute nei miei pronostici: Vittoria Juve in tutti i casi,
sconfitta Milan in tutti i casi. Dopo in funzione delle avversarie
dirette della Juve adattavo diverse regole, come sconfitta Parma o
sconfitta Inter. Devo dire che con l'Inter spesso ci beccavo.
Quest'anno ho lasciato parlare la logica e devo dire che funziona
molto meglio. La sola regola che uso ancora e che quando sono
indeciso su un risultato alora metto un sano e italico pareggio.
Dopo come sempre c'e una gran parte di culo.

First of all, I'd like to thank Roberto for all the time he spends
for the organization of the CP, especially this year that "la
Citta Invisible" is deserving is name with all the problems it
had.
So, my name is Mauro and I was born in Switzerland and more
specifically in Valais. My parents are Italian, and my dad is a
fan of AC Milan. Unfortunately for him he lost me, even if he took
care of my "football" education since I was born. Indeed I'm a
Juventus fan. I must say that this year I'm still wondering who is
the most unlucky between my dad or me, poor and angry Juventus
fan. But at least there is the CP2000 to help me forget this
awful year, because even if Juventus lost big this year, I won
(this is for the bragging part).
One last thing about me, I'm currently living in the Bay Area and
I'm working for a Telecommunication "start-up".
I'm a big basketball fan and this year I hope above all that the
Lakers won't win the title, go Portland!!
I've been participating to the CP for many years and till last
year my results were always very bad to say the least.
Therefore it's kind of hard for me to give any tips on how I
manage to win the CP this year. I must say that I was myself
amaze about my sudden ability to guess the results so accurately.
In fact, the first time I noticed I was in the top 10 I was
extremely happy. My only hope was to be able to maintain that
position. When I realize that I was catching up I couldn't
believe it. Obviously at the end of the championship as I was
still the leader I was crossing my finger very hard every Sunday,
and by doing so now I can't use my keyboard anymore because my
fingers are all twisted.
Anyway, the only difference with the past was that this year I
didn't let my heart drive my predictions. Before, I used to
have some strict rules such as: Juve win every time, Milan lose
every time. And then, I used also to build some other rules based
on the team who was directly competing against the Juventus. For
instance Parma lose or Inter lose all the time.
I must say that for the Inter I was getting good result with this
strategy. This year instead I let the logic talk and I must say
that it's working much much better. The only rules that I'm still
using is that when I've some doubts about a result I go for a
typical italian draw. And of course I was also very lucky.
